New adventures into the scary Vegan world…..

 

Hi Team!!!

Well, today I had to take a sick day….woke up with a fever tried to sick it out a work for a few hours but ultimately decided I needed to come home and rest. On days when I cannot get my Insanity in I REALLY refocus on my nutrition and my water intake! It is really important to keep hydrated, especially when sick! You are suppose to be drinking HALF of your body weight in ounces everyday! On top of using the Insanity Nutrition Guide (which is wonderful) I just got in the mail Vegan cooking for Carnivores and The BEst of Clean Eating! I decided that I am going to attempt to make a commitment to eat Vegan three days a week (hopefully four days). This seems like a realistic start for me, and after looking through the recipes I am really EXCITED! They all seem sooooooo delicious! Get ready for me to post some of my favorites!

Shakeology No-Bake Cookies!

 

Hi All!

Shakeology is a product that just continues to find ways to be versatile in fitting in your diet. Let’s face it…if  people you’re reading this you’re in all likelihood very committed to your health or at least considering making improvements. If your anything like me I still have INTENSE cravings for sweets. How do I minimize the damage?

Ingredients & Preparation

  • 1 cup reduced-fat or natural peanut butter (I use PB2)
  • 1 cup quick-cook oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup honey or agave nectar
  • 1 cup Chocolate Shakeology powder

    Shakeology no bake PB2 cookies!

To prepare simply make sure your hands are ring free and have been thoroughly washed. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix very well. Roll into balls that are about a heaping teaspoon each. Let sit to firm up and they are ready to serve or be put in a plastic container for later consumption.

Shakeology No-Bake Cookie Summary

I will just say that these Shakeology no-bake cookies are extremely healthy and ridiculously delicious….the only problem is trying to eat just one more two! I personally like the texture of the Shakeology no-bake cookies and find them as a great healthy alternative when my sweet tooth hits me. Beachbody also lists some additional options to mix in like crushed nuts, oatmeal mixed with a little cinnamon, whole-grain graham cracker crumbs, mint extract, or unsweetened coconut flakes. I have personally never tried any of these options with Shakeology (also I really want to try the cinnamon ones, hopefully they taste Snikerdoodle-esk) no-bake cookies so experiment at your own risk.

Breakfast of champions

Good Morning!! 

So, you may be curious about Shakeology….what is it? Why should I try it? Why in the world does it cost so much? Those are the same questions that I had before ordering it…and honestly still had after I push the “checkout” button online. NOW, I couldn’t imagine my morning without it.

I personally have Tropical Shakeology everyday for breakfast and it keeps me full for hours. I typically eat breakfast at 8:30 and do not get to lunch until 1:45-2:00. That is 5 hours of FULL! Shakeology is jam packed with 70+ superfoods and nutrients that keep me completely energized, my digestive system on track, and I have noticed my hair and nails are stronger and grow faster!

The Breakfast of Champions!

My go to Shakeology recipe: 

1 scoop of Tropical Shakeology

1/2 Banana

1/4 frozen mixed berries (I used the target brand with blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries)

1-2 cups of Ice (I like to make mine with more ice so it is BIGGER!)

1 cup of water (or enough until smooth)

I serve this thicker than most people in a bowl and top it with a hand full of Kashi GoLean!
