My life has changed quite drastically in the last few days. I moved to Newport Beach….6 hours south of where I was living previously in Monterey and started a new job (love it!). I feel so blessed so EVERYTHING.

Moving…Moving…Moving…

Hi GUYS!

 

I am so sorry for being MIA! I just got a new job offer and have a two week turn around to be moved down to Newport Beach, CA from Monterey, CA! I start next Monday!

I am so excited for this new opportunity and what it will bring to my life….Event Planning is my passion along with fitness! I will soon be working my dream job and sharing all about it!

I am currently using LES MILLS PUMP! I love weightlifting….I truly love it. My arms are so much stronger (it has helped with the whole packing/moving thing) and I feel more defined!

Motivation Monday!

WHOOOOO HOOOOO guys…..well I apologize! I have been SO MIA! so today’s posit is short and sweet……but to get MOTIVATION UP! I NEED IT…I KNOW YOU NEED IT!

LES MILLS Pump and Burn done today already! I got a little off track with my nutrition this past week while celebrating my birthday BUT today I am starting the Shakeology 3 day cleanse and REALLY getting refocused!

Motivation Monday!

You should all know that I actually LOVE Mondays. A strange feeling of renewal and excitement overcomes me and I feel like I can accomplish ANYTHING! 

I’ve learned that personally I get most of me “to do list” tasks that I have been putting off done on Mondays! I wanted to share with you on this fine days  five tips to keep on your fitness journey! i’ll be doing this every Monday……so get ready to STAY MOTIVATED!

1) Set realistic goals!

I do have an ultimate goal weight like everyone else but instead of using that everyday I set 5 pound loss goals. Just to be open my ultimate goal weight is 155 (i’m 5’9″) my current weight is 170 SO my next 5 pound goal is 165 and I working my tail off to get there!

2) Drink at least 8 glass of water a day!

You hear it ALL the time….but do you DO IT!? You body needs water to function, lose weight, keep those darned headaches away…..Bottoms up folks!

3) Eat clean!

I cannot rave enough about CLEAN EATING! Eliminate processed foods from your diet and you will see MAJOR changes in your fitness performance and inches lost. ITS CRAZY! Try it one day at a time.

4) Choose a workout program you enjoy!

Everyone knows that if you pick a program that you enjoy it will not feel like work! Personally I love programs that make me feel like I am part of a team or someone is actually yelling at me…Insanity and Asylum are totally my speed but if someone asked me to do a program that required choreography I would not enjoy it. I have two left feet and no fun with dance workouts.

5) Keep healthy snacks around you at all times!

Stock your cabinets with healthy snacks, pack your work desk drawers, keep some in your purse….seriously stay sticked up. Think about those time when you make bad food choices. Usually it is because you are starving and have no healthy options around. If you keep these low calorie healthy options around then you have no excuses for crazy indulgences! I personally keep 1/2 cup of raw nuts in small bags in my desk, apples, grapes, etc.

Things are about to get REAL…personal

HI Folks…..well today I accomplished something HUGE but in order for me to share and to celebrate with you I need to get a little personal. Here goes it….

As some of you may know from my Beachbody Journey I have suffered from years of binging and purging and really negative self image really. I have come a LONG way from my worst but still have moments of weakness in mind and in actions. I personally think that it will always be a struggle and I will always have to battle my brain and old habits. but TODAY…..today was a HUGE….I mean GINORMOUS step in the right direction. One that I am so proud of more than any workout I think I have ever done.

As some of you know I am doing Reset. It is a pretty strict 21 day cleanse filled with amazing healthy foods (no straving here). I followed everything to a tee today (day 6) had my fruit breakfast, a delicious microgreen salad for lunch….then 4 o’clock came around and I CHOKED! I had 2 peanut butter cups……now this is not a big deal to most people BUT in the mind of a former binge eater these 2 peanut butter cups while on a cleanse opened pandoras box! SUDDENLY my brian was running on and on….ok I ate these, now I can just cheat the rest of the day and purge it out……i’ll just spiral down this dark whole then purge and it will be like I never ate ANY of it. THIS IS THE CRAZY MIND AND THOUGHT I WAS HAVING….this is unfiltered and REAL.

After work….I got in my car still having these crazy thoughts. Thinking boy I havent binged/purged in so long one time will not hurt…..I can go crazy now and get these cravings out of my head. I drove straight to…..I kid you not Carl’s Jr. I pull into the drive through and there is a line……i’m waiting in my car (because only crazy people go inside) and still having these crazy thoughts thinking of the burger/fries/soda/shake I am about to scarf down….there are 2 cars until I order….then I check facebook from my phone. I saw a post from Elaine James (my AMAZING coach) on our challenge group wall. There is now 1 car until I order….What do I do. Do I cave and order these horrible but tasty food or do I stay strong and not go past these two peanut butter cups…..

WELL FOLKS…..because of my challenge group. I pulled up to that window (being stuck with a car behind me) and I told her I forgot my wallet so I COULDN’T GET ANYTHING! I was so embarrassed for even driving there…for getting that far in my crazy thoughts but man I am so proud of my final decision! I went home and made Veggie stir fry!

I already have a Beachbody Program…..now what?

Hi All!

So I get this question A LOT…..I already have a program can I still still join a challenge group?! The answer is YES!! You absolutely can and for you skeptics who already have a program and think “this didn’t work before…why will it work now” the answer is CHALLENGE GROUPS! They work…..and YOU WILL GET RESULTS!

Reset day 1

Beachbody Reset Day 1

I am so excited for this round of Beachbody Ultimate Reset!

21 days until my body is Reset and rid of all the horrible thing I ingest on a daily basis! I know the first 3-4 days are going to be tough…..detoxing from the caffine/preservatives/junk I eat on a daily basis is not fun!

Breakfast

Reset Breakfast Day 1

1 piece whole wheat toast

2 scrambled eggs

steamed kale

SO YUMMMY and FILING!

Lunch

Reset day 1 Lunch

Mixed Green Salad

Chopped Red Onion, Chopped Red Bell pepper, and Shredded carrots

Dressing: 1/2 tbs and 1/2 balsamic with a squirt of lemon and pinch of salt and pepper

Dinner

Salmon marinated with parsely, garlic, salt and pepper

1 1/2 cup steamed broccoli

1/2 cup brown rice

This is all accompanied by lots of water and the proper Reset supplements! Stay tuned for a post about my weight and measurements (ekk nervous to share that one) but I really want to keep accountable during this process to really build it into a lifestyle! Reset Day 0

Good Evening Folks!

Right now I am enjoying my last glass of wine before my start of Beachbody Ultimate Reset tomorrow. I am savoring this glass as I will not be having another for AT LEAST 21 days…but definitely longer than that because you can jump right back into drinking…..ANYWHOO….I am absolutely excited to start RESET tomorrow and really get my body healthy. I’ve done my grocery shopping and have everything planned out! I am tired of being tired…..and not to mentioned the dull headaches I have been having that I know will be gone once I commit to this Reset and get those toxins OUT of my SYSTEM!

Im the mean time……this Malbec is tasting mighty fine :)

Keeping on running, keep on running, running, running

I think I have mentioned this before…..I am not a runner! I usually get VERY bored and impatient….even blasting music running just does not cut it! TODAY, however I woke up with the eager to get some fresh air! THANKS to my Insanity workouts my cardio stamina is up and running was no problem at all! I ran 3 miles ( a huge accomplishment for me)!!

Using Food as a Reward…..why oh whyyyyy

 

Today’s post is short a sweet…….Do you ever find yourself using food as a reward? or rationalizing a doughnut or piece of cake because you worked out that morning?  I DO….I have no idea why?! This has DEFINITELY been the hardest mindset to break….I cannot count how many workouts I wasted “rewarding” myself and end up eating way more calories that I burned that day!

As you all know I am a Beachbody coach….I work out…..a lot… but food has always had some hold on me. I did Beachbody Ultimate Reset in May and had HUGE success!! I lost just under 15 pounds and had AMAZING energy! I was not prepared for keeping up the lifestyle post reset though. I did not ease back into processed  foods, meats and cheese….I JUMPED RIGHT IT.  Why am I admitting this? Because I am ready to do it again….Knowing that this time I can keep up the lifestyle and really make this LIFE CHANGES! I was to break this ties that I had with food and Gain control!
